The Outlook's Nov. 11 editorial titled "Government Failing to Help Veterans” struck a chord for me.

I was employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs to assist Aboriginal war veterans to obtain retirement pensions. I interviewed veterans and submitted my report to the government.  My interviews with these veterans were heartbreaking. My documentation resulted in a change of policy and pensions were received.

I was later employed by Veterans Affairs Canada as a case manager to assist veterans to receive financial assistance and counselling services.
