LETTER: Rosin's newsletter harmful and misleading

Editor: I received the mail-out pamphlet from Ms. Miranda Rosin, MLA for Banff-Kananaskis.

Editor:

I received the mail-out pamphlet from Ms. Miranda Rosin, MLA for Banff-Kananaskis.

Telling her constituents the worst of the pandemic is behind us is dangerous when the truth is, hospitalizations and deaths have been rising steadily with no indication they are slowing down.

This false propaganda only served to mislead her constituents and was outright harmful.

It clearly undermined the urgent messages Albertans have received from Dr. Deena Hinshaw, our chief public officer of health, who on Friday (Nov. 20) when commenting on the hospitalizations and recent deaths, described Alberta's current pandemic situation as "grim" and "deeply concerning."

Clearly Ms. Rosin has no sense of concern for the human impact of the pandemic and is focused on the economic recovery and ignoring the health crisis in the province.

It is time for her and the government to take the pandemic seriously and appreciate that failure to control the community spread of COVID-19 has cost lives.

If Ms. Rosin is unwilling or unable to take the pandemic seriously, or to address her constituents with the honesty and candor they deserve, she should step aside in favour of someone who will.

Prudence Taylor,
