Everyday there are so many negative stories in the news. I had a very positive experience over the weekend that reminded me why I love Canmore and I wanted to share it.

I am a senior and I was out riding my electric bike and somehow or other when I went to change my gear, my chain came off and got caught in the mechanism.

I was on a residential street and within minutes a gentleman named Carl/Karl stopped and tried to help me. However, it was jammed. Along came a lady named Heather emptying her garbage near by and she stopped to help. She next called her neighbour Amy, who happens to owns Pedego where I purchased my step-thru bike.

Amy arrived and I believe Heather's husband came next on his bike and the three of them carried my bike to Amy's garage where her husband fixed it. Amy checked it out and rode it before allowing me to get back on it.

Meanwhile, since I live at Origins in Spring Creek, two gracious employees had arrived on the bus to support me in case I had to take the bike to the shop. I am so grateful to live in a town surrounded by good-hearted people and customer centred business owners. What a great feeling.

Lynn Cooper,

Canmore
