LETTER: UCP plans for Alberta are short-sighted, harmful

Editor: To Premier Jason Kenney. I am writing to protest against most of what you have done to this province and the citizens of this province with your short-sighted plans.

Editor:

To Premier Jason Kenney.

I am writing to protest against most of what you have done to this province and the citizens of this province with your short-sighted plans.

I protest that Alberta’s parks system are being opened to privatization and development. We want parks, not development.

We need parks. Parks should be protected and not developed.

I protest the open pit coal mining operation. Your science needs to be consulted and/or reexamined.

Open pit mines are known to be disastrous to everything downstream. Well, I am a downstream constituent. You are killing me.

I protest against your oil and gas decisions. The days are numbered that we can continue to use these fossil fuels. Did you know that?

Renewable energy is what we need to develop; not fossil fuels. Again, check your science.

I protest your proposals regarding the Canadian Pension Plan, a provincial police force, teacher’s pensions.

I protest against your high-handed, money making at any and all cost approach. Are you an Albertan? Really?

I strongly protest against privatizing the health care industry. Again, I strongly protest against this short-sighted approach that will lead, not to a better system, but to a situation where many Albertan people will not have health care available or affordable.

I protest the lack of public consultation that has allowed you to get these horrible things done to our province.

Anne Martin,

Canmore
