Once again, big union sticks it to the Marthas and Henrys who ultimately pay Parks Canada wages.

Living in Banff, I have a great regard for the Warden Service, and agree that they should be paid comparable to other law enforcement agencies based on their comparative duties –you do not send the RCMP to track down a dangerous grizzly, and you do not call Parks Canada to break up a bar fight.

What I do not like about the new agreement is the timing of the increases.

I would love to get a 2.8 per cent increase next year, and even a 1.35 per cent increase would be nice, but in these tough times right now I am happy that I have a full-time job with a regular payday.

I do not suppose anyone considered makng the pay raises in the reverse order – 1.35 per cent in the first year, followed by 2.2 per cent, then 2.8 per cent?
