More to mass transit in the valley than budgets

There is no doubt the growing congestion of cars and people is a reason we left the Bow Valley after many wonderful years, however I have no idea why one would visit the Bow Valley by bus or train only to be dropped off at Canmore, Banff or Lake Louise with no way in which to get to the backcountry.

I would like to know what the possible impact would be, i.e. how would the congestion or traffic be reduced to justify the costs.

It seems to me that being dropped off in Canmore, Banff or Lake Louise would only benefit local businesses, in which case they should be prepared to bear a lot of the costs.

Certainly it’s far too early to seek any funding from a higher authority as many questions remain.

If the Bow Valley is so congested with cars and people then why should more people be encouraged to visit?

Tourism pollution is becoming an issue all over the world and buses and trains from Calgary will not solve that issue and in fact could have the opposite effect.
