Editor: It’s my pleasure to add to my friend Doug Jones’ endorsement of Carol Picard for citizen of the year in Canmore.

Editor: Re: Canmore may offer to purchase to Cougar Creek lots. I write this letter to both correct a typo and also once again protest the shabby treatment the Di Poces have received.

Editor: It is with some amusement that I read about the pros and cons of photo radar. Let’s just step back and look at the big picture. Photo radar is a cash grab, period.

Editor: My wife and I, for our 34th anniversary, visited Banff/Lake Louise this past weekend (July 8-11). I had been to Banff on a business trip approximately 10 years ago, and fell in love with the area.

Editor: I am writing to point out that, in my opinion, there has been a massive oversight in planning for the parking trial downtown.

Editor: Three weeks ago, Brad Treat tore around a sharp bend on a forest trail near his Montana home.

Editor: The only way to bring the radar debate to an end is by bringing the radar program to an end, plain and simple. Unfortunately, a recent letter writer did not contribute anything of substance worth responding to.

Editor: Almost every week someone writes a letter whining about how they got a photo radar ticket and it’s so unfair. Some say they are excellent drivers and can safely drive faster than the speed limit.

Editor: I’m visiting from the U.K. and I have to comment on the ill manners of some cyclists in both Banff and Canmore.

Editor: I think we critics of photo radar are going about it in the wrong way, so I’ll start with two comments.
