Editor: This is my fourth or fifth visit to Banff, the first occurring in 1962 when I was a boy, the most recent in 2008. Despite the increased traffic, Banff remains a charming town.

Editor: The Outlook’s article “Arts centre scope changed to move forward” was an excellent summary of the debate at Canmore Town Council on this issue, and typical of the fine, unbiased reporting that we have come to take for granted from RMO.

Editor: Cynthia Anderson wrote in your Aug. 21 edition that the GranFondo Banff is a disruptive event that should not be permitted in Banff National Park.

Editor: Kudos to Rob, Trent and Elishia of the ProCat Team (and to Town of Canmore staff) for the awesome work over the past couple of weeks in renovating and enhancing the walking/biking trail between the Engine Bridge and Larch Islands in Canmore.

Editor: I am curious as to what the townspeople of Banff have to say about the idea of hot air balloon rides.

Editor: Last week’s letter in the Outlook from a couple from Scotland for the installation of speed cameras in the park resonates with many of us who have long awaited the same thing.

Editor: What if you could only spend one day in Banff National Park? I am impressed with the advanced warning Banff residents and visitors have received in preparation for the upcoming Aug 23 GranFondo event.

Editor: More Banffites should take the trouble to read the Town’s Transportation Master Plan (Bunt & Associates; August 2013), readily available on the Town’s website.

Editor: Did anybody hear food critic, John Gilchrist’s CBC Radio morning review of a new Canmore restaurant on Aug.

Editor: With all the commotion about the pay parking a thought occurred to me: Why not go the way of Walt Disney World? The off-site parking they have works for two main reasons: 1) Most revenue comes from a customer’s wallet, not their car.
