Editor: I was dismayed to read in last week’s Outlook about the proposal to develop a new conference centre in Canmore.

Editor: The Purina Walk for Dog Guides was a great success in raising $2,600, including $500 from the Lions Club. We saw about 150 people with their canine friends turn out for the event.

Editor: I am commenting on the article Flood forecast expresses facts, failures and foulups by Lynn Martel on May 22. I have not read the book and do not plan to as I check history first.

Editor: Kudos to the landfill and K-Country. I have been climbing off and on for about 30 years on the cliffs of Goat Mountain, beside Yamnuska.

Editor: Once more, the folks of the Bow Valley have shown they care. Last August, we spearheaded an initiative to collect and fly out flood debris from the lower end of Cougar Creek. On May 22 of this year, we completed the task.

Editor: I am an eight-year-old boy. I live in Canmore. I like to go to the skate park with my scooter. But the last two times I’ve gone, I’ve been hassled by older boys. They insulted me and they took away my scooter and my friend’s bike.
