Daily temperatures, fire hazards and illegal campfires are on the rise and Canmore Fire Rescue wants to remind residents how quickly a wildfire can start

Temperatures are rising this week.

Organizers of the Kananaskis Canmore Klean Up event are concerned increased volumes of garbage left along popular trails and in day-use parking lots in the region could attract wildlife and have 400 prizes to give out for those able to participate in the cleanup event

“This weekend was I would say more typical in the distribution of the style of calls but just more of them. For a long weekend in August having 20 calls in a weekend is still really busy.”

Go with a partner, stay with your group, and have a plan."
