This week Cochrane’s community spirit will be put to the test as Kraft Hockeyville voting commences on March 29 and concludes March 30.
While Cochrane will need support from across Alberta to bring home the $250,000 prize and win the right to play host to a pre-season NHL game, it is incumbent on Cochranites to lead the way. It is through our citizens’ efforts we have become one of the top four finalists to host the prestigious event and come within spitting distance of being able to raise much needed funds for the “Old Barn,” the Cochrane Arena.
So let’s get out there and vote, and show Canadians what the community spirit of Cochrane is made of.
Vote on March 29 to 30th, and vote often. That should be Cochrane’s mantra for the next two days, and everybody has to do his or her part.
Voting is the most important thing you can do to help the community, but there are other ways to show community spirit and support the Kraft Hockeyville campaign.
Cochranites are invited out to the Kraft Hockeyville rally at the Cochrane Arena on Thursday evening at 4:30 p.m. Come out, have a good time, and wave the flag for Cochrane!
Imagine the bragging rights Cochrane will have if it can bring Kraft Hockeyville back to Alberta for the first time in a decade. Imagine the joy and prestige of gaining national media attention and having NHL heroes playing a full on game right here in our own arena.
All it will take for us to make this dream a reality is to work hard, and to get out the vote.
