VILNA - Smoky Lake RCMP are reporting a fatal collision occurred involving three vehicles on Highway 28, near Vilna, Saturday afternoon.
RCMP sent out a media release saying they were on scene at the location between Range Road 141 and 142, at about 2 p.m. on Nov. 25.
"Smoky Lake RCMP would like to advise the public that Highway 28 will be closed in that area while investigation is ongoing and traffic analysts attend the scene," reads the RCMP media release.
Traffic is being diverted to Township Road 594 via Range Roads 141 and 142 and the public is asked to avoid the area as it will be impassible until further notice.
RCMP say more information will be sent out once the highway is reopened and more details become available. As of 5 p.m., no further information had been released.
