Police search for missing family northwest of Edmonton

Police say family of three, including 8 year old boy could have been off-roading

RCMP in Lac Ste. Anne County —  about 350 kilometres west of Lac La Biche — are looking for a family of three, including an eight year old boy, who may have gone missing during an off-roading trip.

Parkland RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance with locating the Pelsma family. The family of three consisting of a 39-year-old Kelly, 37-year-old Laura and 8-year-old Dylan were last seen on Dec. 23, 2023.

The Pelsma’s may have gone off-roading in the family’s side-by-side in Lac Ste Anne County. The municipality, northwest of Edmonton includes areas near Mayerthorpe.

Police say their intended destination was unknown.Parkland RCMP are concerned for their well-being and are asking for the public’s assistance.

Kelly is described as:

  • Male
  • 5’9”
  • 190 lbs
  • brown hair
  • Blue eyes

Laura is described as:

  • Female
  • 5’4”
  • 125 lbs
  • Blond hair
  • Blue eyes

Dylan is described as:

  • Male
  • 4’9”
  • 90 lbs
  • Brown hair
  • Blue eyes

The family UTV side-by-side is described as a black Can Am Maverick Turbo.
