Snow bringing poor road conditions to QEII in Central Alberta

INNISFAIL - Innisfail RCMP are advising of poor road conditions this morning on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway and area roadways from Innisfail to Red Deer.

Officers have responded to five collisions so far this morning, police said in a release issued Monday at 9:23 a.m.

"Please ensure to take extra precautions when travelling or consider avoiding travel due to icy roads and blowing snow,"

Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning on the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 22 that is still in effect for the areas of Red Deer - Ponoka - Innisfail – Stettler as well as Airdrie - Cochrane - Olds – Sundre.

Approximately 10 to 15 centimetres of snow is expected to fall.
