There's always a bigger fish: Aedan Dunning caught this eight-foot sturgeon in the Fraser River, B.C.

Aedan Dunning has been hooked on fishing since he can remember, and his family's love for the outdoors has netted them quite an audience.

Wild Angles showcases the adventures of Aedan and the Dunning family as they travel across North America for fishing and hunting expeditions. The show began in 2022, with the first season available on YouTube and the second airing on Wild TV.

The show was awarded show of the month in January by a Wild TV audience vote.

"I can pretty much thank my dad fully for that," said Aedan. "If it wasn't for him throwing me into the world of hunting and fishing when I was very young, I don't know if it would have found me or not, but I can definitely thank my dad for that."

Aedan's dad is Andrew Dunning, the show's director and producer. He is the founder of the family-run production company Dunning Imagery. Based in Diamond Valley, he, his wife Debbie, and sons Liam and Aedan all work together to produce the show.

"We all bring different skill sets to the team," said Andrew. "Debbie is a bookkeeper by trade and she is an editor by experience.

"I do some of the editing but Debbie does like 90 per cent. She's really the glue that holds us together."

Liam Dunning, Aedan's older brother, is the show's director of photography.

"That's definitely my forte," said Liam. "It's something I have about 10 years of experience in doing professionally, so it just made sense for us to bring it over into the family business."

Aedan, the show's host, is "a fish whisperer," according to Andrew.

"We try to make the show relatable and entertaining," said Andrew. "But we also like to bring in a little bit of education so people can learn from Aedan."

Aedan's adventures have spanned across Canada and into the United States as well. Recently, the show has expanded to include hunting.

"It kind of happened inadvertently when we were fishing up in the Arctic," said Andrew. "Aiden spotted a muskox hunt, and I guess the film crew that was supposed to film it drank too much rum, so next thing you know we're following a hunter from Texas and we ended up filming the whole muskox hunt."

Dunning family members are avid bird hunters and have their own trained dog for pheasant hunts.

"Our next episode will feature a goose hunt," said Andrew. "I know it's a big part of many people's lives in rural Alberta."

The show takes the Dunning family across the continent but they try to keep things local, with many sponsors being from Diamond Valley and surrounding area.

"We do love our small town and area," said Aedan.

"They're saying, you know, the Dunning family are doing so much to help put Diamond Valley on the map. We don't feel like we're doing that, but when we see people posting that and sharing it, it's just very humbling and we're very appreciative of our community."
