UPDATE: Canmore RCMP advise that 24-year-old Liam Williams, of Calgary, has been located safe.
Police were asking for the public’s help in finding the missing Calgary man whose vehicle was found near Harvie Heights.
RCMP said Williams was reported missing Thursday (Aug. 10) at about 4:15 p.m.
Police said they located a vehicle that belongs to Williams near the Harvie Heights turn-off along the Trans-Canada Highway close to the Banff Park east gates.
They later found personal items believed to be Williams’ during the night in the Bow River near Bridge Road in Canmore.
Police said Kananaskis Mountain Rescue, Alberta Parks conservation officers, Cochrane Search and Rescue and Alpine helicopters assisted with the search.
