Three things to love about Jasper in November

PRESS RELEASE: Jasper is beautiful in every season, and those in the capital region are fortunate to be just a few short hours' drive away from the mountains, wildlife and townsite, whether it's camping or ski season.

Jasper is beautiful in every season, and those in the capital region are fortunate to be just a few short hours' drive away from the mountains, wildlife and townsite, whether it's camping or ski season.

In late fall, i.e. November, Jasper has some special delights. Before skiers descend, the low season allows crowd-free access to the town's restaurants, bars and shops, abundant elk sightings and special events happening at Jasper Park Lodge. Here's three highlights of Jasper in November.

Jamie Hussey, Director of Food & Beverage at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge

JASPER, October 26, 2023 – Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is proud to announce the appointment of Jamie Hussey as the new Director of Food and Beverage, effective October 16, 2023. Entering his fourth year in the picturesque mountain town of Jasper, Hussey brings extensive local knowledge and culinary inspiration to his new role.

Hussey previously held prominent positions building brand identity and food concepts as the Director of Food and Beverage in local businesses and restaurants such as Terra and Aalto. In his early career, Hussey worked as an Executive Chef in fine dining restaurants, upscale hotels and prestigeous golf clubs such as Glen Abbey Golf Club.

His experience and familiarity of sourcing local ingredients within and near Jasper National Park as well as his conscious awareness of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge’s environmental stewardship provides an exciting opportunity for Hussey to redefine the multiple dining outlets within the resort. As the Director of Food and Beverage, Hussey will oversee the resort’s restaurants, bars, banquets, and private dining experiences as well as the culinary programming of the resort’s many signature events.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jamie to the JPL family,” said Garrett Turta, General Manager of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. “With his exceptional leadership and his extensive local knowledge and partnerships, Jamie will excel at guiding our team towards new hospitality adventures”.

Hussey is excited to utilize Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge’s unique layout of mountain chic heritage log cabins to provide more curated offerings to add the personal touch for guests, as well as being inspired by the destination to develop new programing and rejuvenate the team.

“When we think of food and beverage, we think of home. We think of warmth and comfort that changes with the seasons. Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is known for elevated comfort that everyone can enjoy,” said Hussey. “By taking the ethos of being inspired by the landscape, I look forward to introducing exciting changes as we stay rooted in the wild”.
