Rollover on Trans-Canada near Field sends one person to hospital

STARS was dispatched to the area and a 50-year-old patient was transported to the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary in stable condition.

FIELD – A vehicle rollover near Field on Sunday afternoon has sent one person to hospital in stable condition.

The collision took place at about 12 p.m. to the east of Field and caused major delays due to congestion along the Trans-Canada Highway.

STARS air ambulance was dispatched and a 50-year-old patient was taken to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.

The vehicle recovery was completed at about 5 p.m. The highway was reduced to one lane in each direction, with westbound traffic diverted onto the east side of Yoho Valley Road, east of Field, prior to the recovery being completed.

There was also a vehicle collision at about noon near the Saskatchewan River Crossing on Highway 93 north of Lake Louise. The collision took place at about noon Sunday, with significant traffic delays on the highway. The scene was cleared and the highway reopened by roughly 3:30 p.m.
