Ice climber dies on Christmas Day

CANMORE – An ice climber died on Tuesday (Dec. 25) in Banff National Park after falling from Cascade Falls. According to an RCMP press release, a 911 call was received at 11 a.m.

CANMORE – An ice climber died on Tuesday (Dec. 25) in Banff National Park after falling from Cascade Falls.

According to an RCMP press release, a 911 call was received at 11 a.m. on Christmas Day regarding the sudden death of an ice climber on a popular route on Cascade Mountain just outside the Banff townsite.

The climber, a male in his 20s, died of his injuries as the result of falling a significant distance down the ice climb route. The RCMP did not identify the person involved.
