Cochrane RCMP investigating fatal motorcycle collision on Highway 1A

Two people are dead and one is in hospital after a collision involving three motorcycles along Highway 1A on Monday evening (April 26).

COCHRANE – The Cochrane RCMP and other emergency services are on scene of a fatal motorcycle collision on Monday evening (April 26). 

RCMP and other first responders, including Exhsaw Fire Rescue, responded to the scene of a motorcycle collision involving three vehicles around 6:45 p.m. according to a press release. 

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third has been transported to hospital. 

According to the release, traffic on the highway has been re-routed and delays are expected to last several hours. Traffic in both directions is affected with traffic control on scene.

Cpl. Matthew Quallie confirmed the collision scene is located between Morley Road and the 1X Highway. A collision analyst is also expected to attend the scene to assist with the RCMP investigation.
