Clare McCabe
1964 – 2023
It is with great regret and sadness that we announce the passing of Clare Maureen McCabe. After a prolonged illness and brief stay in hospital she went peacefully in her sleep on the morning of September 07, 2023.
Clare was a lover of books, animals, politics and those she chose to have near. She was tolerant of the rest. She lead a quiet existence but an activist when the need arose. Born in Sackville, NB in 1964, she found her way to the Bow Valley and made it her home for forty years.
Clare is survived by her husband Frank Brab and son Erik Brab both of Banff. She will also be missed by her sister Kathy McCabe and brother Michael McCabe of New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her mother Anne McCabe and her father Colin McCabe.
Her family and friends would like to thank her team of care givers and especially those of the acute care unit at the Mineral Springs Hospital in Banff. They provided comfort and great care in her last few days.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Donations in Clare’s name would be welcomed by the family to the underfunded library of your choice or the Canadian Cancer Society.
