James “Jim” Strauss
January 17, 1957 - April 25, 2023
It is with great sadness to inform family, friends, and the community that Canmore local James William Strauss (best known as Stoosh) passed away suddenly on April 25th 2023 in Cochrane AB at the age of 66 while getting ready to do what he loved for the last three decades, driving truck for Two Feathers Contracting.
Jim is survived by his son Kevin Strauss (Sara), grandson Nathan Strauss (Braiden) and great grandchildren Kaelyn and Edward Liddle, and grandsons Logan and Seth Strauss.
His daughter Jackie Strauss (Dan) and grandsons Tie and Max Saint.
Also his sister Marie Leong (Dick) and family Sheila Leong and sons Jason (Laura) Reid, David (Christina) and children Lincoln, and Connor Foster. Nephew Richard Leong and daughter Savannah (Jeremy) and children Cassandra and Halaina Kemp. Niece Sheryl Leong (Tyler) and children Rebecca, Tim, and Veronica Reid.
And his sister in law Vera Strauss. Niece Ireene Bailey (Graham) and children Jayden Strauss, Jordan and Joselyn Bailey. Nephew Travis Strauss as well as many lifelong friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Ireen and John Strauss and brothers Brian and Garry.
Jim will always be remembered as a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was kind and loyal to family and friends. He had a one of a kind personality and a passion for getting his hands dirty working on and rebuilding vehicles.
Service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at the Legion in Exshaw. We welcome family and friends to join us in celebrating the life of Jim and pay their respects.
