McTaggart, Frances Marie
b. 7 December 1935 - d. 9 May 2022
It is with much sadness and great love we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Frances Marie McTaggart. She leaves to mourn her passing 5 children, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. Fran was pre-deceased by her husband Daniel and daughter Diana Lynn.
Fran was born and raised in the Bow Valley, where she spent much of her life working, living and raising a family in Exshaw and Canmore.
Of her life’s many achievements Fran was proud of belonging to the “Southern Alberta Pioneers” a group that could boast as being direct descendants of the families that settled southern Alberta in the late 1800’s. She was also a past member of the IODE (International Order of the Daughter’s of the Empire) where she, with her group, actually met Queen Elizabeth.
Fran was a familiar face in many ways in the Bow Valley, volunteering to read to children at the elementary school in Exshaw, working with the seniors group in Canmore as well as with the Canmore Highland games.
Service to be held at St Michael’s Anglican Church, 709 7th Street, Canmore, Ab, T1W 2C3, May 26th at 1:00 pm
