Nancy Barnes is lovingly remembered by many as a lovely and generous person who is known for her athletic endurance and role of Registered Nurse in the longterm care units of Banff and Canmore. Nancy competed in many events including Ironman, Marathons, and local ski loppets. Many remember her as a fitness instructor.  Nancy loved to hike and bike, she could often be met on the Tunnel and Sulphur Mountains’ trails as well as the Legacy and Highline. Nancy also loved art and often created her own. Recently Nancy’s endurance has been challenged by mental health and it speaks to the need for all of us to find solace. Nancy is sadly missed and reminds us how important the support of each other remains. Nancy’s dream was to join a group of friends for a run again, like in Burlington. On April 26, 2022 Nancy left this life to meet those friends. Nancy’s cat Nigel supports BVSPCA, please remember Nancy Barnes with your donation.
