STONEY NAKODA – Members of the Cochrane RCMP General Investigation Section made multiple arrests last Friday (Dec. 6), following reports of a suspicious vehicle in the community.
"The officers observed a firearm in the vehicle and arrested the occupants," stated an RCMP press release. "As the investigation unfolded, several weapons were located and seized, including a loaded shotgun, a loaded rifle, bear spray and brass knuckles."
Carlyle Holloway, 39, Zachary Sampson, 33, and Aldina Snow, 34, from the Stoney Nakoda First Nation have been charged with several offences, including four counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, three counts of carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm and one count of tampering with a serial number.
"All three accused were held for a Judicial Interim Release hearing," stated the RCMP press release. "Holloway was remanded to appear in Cochrane Provincial Court on Tuesday (Dec. 10). Sampson was released on a $2,000 no-deposit recognizance to appear in Court on Dec. 17, and Snow was released on $3,000 no-deposit recognizance to appear in Court on Tuesday (Dec. 10)."
