The past week has proven that Canmore is full of heroes.

I want to share one very personal experience that made a huge difference to me.

Early morning on Saturday, June 22 I lost my glasses somewhere in the Civic Centre. It was my third day working in the Emergency Operations Centre and I had very little sleep. I could not find my glasses anywhere and was too foggy to remember where I had put them.

I had everyone in the building on the lookout for them. By late afternoon I had a splitting headache and was desperate for my glasses. My hubby got word to Sandra and Murray Oshanyk of Viewpoint Eyecare and Eyewear that I was struggling without my glasses.

Sandra and Murray waded into their water-filled store, found my prescription, got a generator for their lens cutter, picked out a jazzy pair of frames and made me some new glasses. Sandra then delivered them to me at the Civic Centre.

A small act that had a huge impact. I am so very grateful. Thank you Sandra and Murray. You are my heroes.

Sally Caudill,

Canmore
