With regards to the proposed dormitory staff accommodation recently proposed to be built on Beaver Street, we are writing to express our grave concerns with this project.

The negative effects it will have on our neighbourhood and municipal infrastructure will be enormous. The size, density and parking demands of this proposed project is what concerns us the most.

We already have a huge parking problem in this town and to approve an easement that would change the present ruling of 1.5 vehicles per unit to .5 per unit will triple the strain on the already over-taxed streets. This makes no sense at all and will dramatically destroy the already fragile balance of community invested residents.

We are not against providing staff accommodation for seasonal workers and we applaud employers who take the ownership to do right by their staff.

Considering we have lived and worked in Banff for over 60 years, we understand the importance of the industry. We have resided at 410 Banff Ave. for over 45 years and over the years we have been directly impacted by the increase in residents residing in our area.

If council approves the easements required for this high density project, these types of complexes will pop up all over the Town of Banff. Is this what Banff residents want? I think not.

Banff needs not only seasonal transient employees; it also needs individuals who are committed to seeing this community continue to thrive for many generations to come.

Consider all sides of this proposal and the effects it could have in the future.

Sharon and Glen Jackson,

Banff
