After reading your article carefully Re: the selling of Banff mansion, I failed to see where the new owner has the need to reside.
Opening a B&B does not qualify as the need to reside. For years, Parks Canada has looked the other way as the wealthy seem entitled to ignore the rules.
One can only hope that Parks investigates thoroughly before rubber stamping a lease for this purchaser.
The town of Banff should also make certain that the need to reside clause is met before so eagerly agreeing to a B&B. We all know the story of the previous owner and it appears that history will repeat itself.
