Editor: I am writing in response to Karsten Heuer’s letter (RMO, March 26) in which he takes issue with the MD of Bighorn’s Area Structure Plan for Dead Man’s Flats.
I also have concerns about the impact of new development on this wildlife corridor, so I appreciate his advocacy on the issue.
But I wonder if Mr. Heuer overstepped in using a comparison to Canmore as the thrust of his argument that the MD’s decisions are “irresponsible and reprehensible.”
After the debacles of Silvertip, Eagle Terrace and Peaks of Grassi, it’s a bit rich to suggest that Canmore is the great protector of wildlife corridors. We’ve all got blood on our hands, Mr. Heuer.
