Concerns with dogs, radar

Editor: At first glance, reading letters regarding dogs off-leash and photo radar, you would assume that both letters were written by the same person. They bring to us a very reasonable proclamation for self policing.

They bring to us a very reasonable proclamation for self policing. Imagine the tax dollars saved if we could eliminate the need for bylaw officers and RCMP services.

Both letter writers articulate their long, good standing and citizenship awards to us in a way that dispels any notion we may have that they are anything but saintly. The “I love my dog too much to subject him to a medieval restraint (layman’s leash) lady,” forewarns us of a very disturbed man in a truck living in our midst. He creepily stalks off-leash pet owners, threatening their fancy free existence and lifestyle in our community. The gall.

I am the person in the truck the writer is describing in her letter. I found her recollection of what happened that day disturbing. While it was a dramatic, nail biting story, I must tell you it deserves the Booker Prize for fiction.

A responsible pet owner will always pick up after their dog and keep it on a leash at all times, with the exception of being in a regulated dog park.

Seriously, when you’re caught doing something wrong; Man Up (or Woman Up) and own it. You may in time find it builds character.

I would also like to thank the letter writing driver for his very generous donation of $189 towards our town’s speed control fund.

Come back soon, ya’ll.
