Editor: Congratulations to the Banff Hockey Academy’s Billy Doherty, Gary Unger and staff on completing their 25th year of operation in Banff.
An alumni celebration held this past weekend was attended by both current and past players, parents and staff, as well as former Banff Community High School and Town of Banff representatives.
Participants came from Banff and Canmore, and from across Canada and the United States, Australia, Austria and Germany, to reconnect with friends and coaches and to enjoy the mountain town they called home for a few years.
An impressive one thousand-plus young men and women have passed through the Academy’s doors since its inception.
I was happy and proud to hear player after player express their gratitude and thanks to the BHA for the good memories, friendships made, and life lessons learned on and off the ice and at school during their time with the Academy.
I’m happy that my sons had the chance to be a part of it.
Again, congratulations and thank you BHA for investing in our kids and in our community.
