Disappointed with parking

My husband and I visited your beautiful area of the country for the first time in August.

We had wanted to make a trip to Canada for several years and were excited that we finally were able to make it happen. We had a wonderful time while there, but unfortunately left the area with a very disappointing experience.

We had gone to Banff to enjoy the sights there and returned to the town of Banff for an evening meal. We drove through several parking lots, finding them full, or else areas to park that were marked for buses only (most having cars parked in that area).

We kept driving until we found an open parking spot between two cars on a side street. When we returned from eating we found a parking ticket on our windshield stating that it was a no parking zone.

It is then that we saw a sign, faced the opposite direction, that stated no parking zone.

We could have accepted the fact we had missed the sign and paid the ticket. However, the disappointing part was that there were two Canadian cars parked in the same area and neither of them had tickets on their windshields.

It made us very sad to think that because we were American tourists, we received a ticket and your own Canadian citizens were overlooked for the same ticket.

Yes, we paid the ticket, but will be sure to warn our American friends about the Canadian bias that we received. It definitely ruined our experience of visiting Canada.
