We should be thankful for Ron Casey’s arguments on so called “Gay-Straight Alliances.”
First off, any such law is absolutely unnecessary. All students are permitted to hang out with whom they like. I should know, I am a teacher.
We must than ask why such a law is being thrust upon us. First, if it were put to a popular vote, it would be voted down (as it was with the MLAs). We should recognize this effort for what it is – an attempt to force a minority ideology on the populace. That may or may not be archaic, but it is undemocratic.
