Kudos to the organizers of the Alberta Winter Games.
The enormously challenging task of putting together the number of events involved, venues required, transportation and the huge number of volunteers, was carried off with amazing proficiency. A job well done by everyone.
The decision of the Town to hold the winter carnival during the AWG may have been questionable, but proved to be a brilliant decision. Our visitors had the opportunity to experience our downtown snowtracks, our sled dogs, beautiful ice and snow sculptures and some traditional “Trapper” activities.
Although we had frigid temperatures, the skies were brilliant blue and the sun shone continuously. Way to go Canmore and the Bow Valley.
