LETTER: Best use of Canmore council's time?

LETTER: I must confess I didn’t know whether to be shocked, or simply laugh out loud about Canmore council looking to prohibit election signage on public property.

Editor:

I must confess I didn’t know whether to be shocked, or simply laugh out loud about Canmore council looking to prohibit election signage on public property.

With all of the visual clutter we have with signage in Canmore, election signs are the least of our worries as a community. Between bollards and informational signs of dubious value, we are saturated with visual pollution in this community. It is at least heartening to hear we are going to do something about the poorly marked crosswalks after so many years of ignoring the deficiency there.

To pontificate to future councillors on how to run their campaigns is inappropriate at best. Please, council, could you direct your resources toward solving problems that improve quality of life for residents of Canmore? This is a waste of resources at best.

Ed Russell,

Canmore
