Years ago, my spiritual teacher Imre Vallyon came to the Okanagan Valley in 1985 where he met an Indigenous man Yellow Bear.
Imre gave him a copy of The Tribal Laws of the Children of Light by Shaman Chief Kitpou. It is the way of the peace chiefs who have to deal with drug addictions, overdoses and suicides in Indigenous communities.
I pulled one out for this letter “when you become a Wolf in the Lodge of your Loved ones, Go into the Forest, Find the Tranquil there, Rest awhile, then come Home again, A Man.”
I would gladly give a copy of The Tribal Laws of the Children of Light to Robbie Daniels, organizer of the journey to Calgary and back to Mînî Thnî highlighted in the Aug. 10 Outlook to help families in need of assistance coping with violence.
