LETTER: Choir a fun time for all

Editor:

I read the excellent article in the Aug. 18 edition of the Outlook about the Valley Winds Community Choir. I wanted to add a few words after my experience in the last nine years in both choirs, but more recently in the Men of the Mountains choir under the directorship of Lee Ann DeCoteau. She brings enormous energy and enthusiasm to her directing, which can’t help but catch on with the members.

Weekly rehearsals are enjoyable events with each section developing its parts and the music selection is terrific and fun to sing. It is truly an exercise for the brain. For the odd song, Lee introduces some simple choreography, which is not so easy when you have to do two things at the same time and watch the director.

We have a lot of fun making music with a great selection of songs, harmonizing (most of) the time.

Mike Garrett,
