I was profoundly saddened to read about the situation with Valbella Gourmet Foods. No doubt a huge mistake occurred. However, Valbella has apologized to the LGBTQ community regarding this event.
I am appalled at the lack of forgiveness for one man's discretion. Retaliation and the possible ruin of this family business – plus the livelihood of 50 employees – that has been in our community for more than 40 years is not the answer. Education and forgiveness are needed here, not phobia on both sides.
