My husband and I moved to Canmore two years ago to retire here and to live closer to our son and grandchildren.

Since we are no longer able to ski and do our favourite outdoor activities, we especially appreciate the many cultural and arts events this town offers. ArtsPlace is our favourite venue for entertainment, arts and performances.

We want to give a big thank you to artsPlace executive director Jeremy Elbourne for his outstanding efforts to bring so many cultural and arts events to this town: crafts, movies, live theatre, art, discussions – there’s something for everybody.

On Saturday (March 23), for example, we had the wonderful opportunity to see yet another great opera from the MET Live:  “Romeo and Juliet”. We were able to enjoy the fabulous voices of the greatest singers in the world.

The variety of programs, the eclectic choices of films, activities and performances give this town so much variety, one would not expect from a small place in the Canadian Rockies. Jeremy’s planning and stewardship of and for the arts are extraordinary.

ArtsPlace is our favourite place in Canmore. I just wanted to express my sincere appreciation and thank you. ArtsPlace is the highlight of our social life.

Maria Raynolds,

Canmore
