The article in the April 28 Outlook makes it sound as if the proposed gondola up to the Lady Macdonald teahouse is a welcomed addition to our town.

It appears to use the presence of three other gondolas in the Bow Valley as a justification for building one here. It fails to point out that not one of those three gondolas goes anywhere near any residential dwellings unlike the proposed Silvertip gondola which will do so.

The gondolas at Lake Louise and Sunshine Village Ski Resort both service ski areas and the gondola at Sulphur Mountain services the commercial operation on Sulphur Mountain. The proposed Liricon gondola in Banff will also serve a ski area and will also not go near any residential properties.

I do not live on the Silvertip side of the valley, but will support any move by the residents there to oppose this plan. We already live in a noisy environment and this can only make it worse for those people who would be living in the path of the gondola.
