Living outside of Canmore’s boundaries, I don’t appreciate the Town of Canmore paid parking, especially the part where some revenues are being used to provide free Roam transit services in Canmore.

The majority of the Roam budget already comes from government – otherwise known as your pocket and mine – but now parking contributions from all Bow Valley residents, as opposed to visitor/tourist contributions, are being used to subsidize Roam transit services to the Townies while we in the suburbs can only wish.

Because we in the MD of Bighorn hamlets have no bus service, we have no choice but to drive. We are then penalized to park, which then subsidizes the buses, which then reduces Roam revenues, which requires more taxpayer inputs, which then justifies more freebies, and so, the days of our lives continue from season to season.

The actors change but the script and storyline remain the same. There’s something not right in Whoville.
