Letter: Parentlink program should be maintained

I'm so impressed with Parentlink and the early childhood services in this excellent program.

When I was a new mother, we had Mom's Time Out in Banff in the basement of the Rundle United Church. The parents I met there were so kind when I knew no-one in Banff.

But before anyone thinks, well, let's go back to the 1980s and save some funding for Premier Jason Kenney's $4.7 billion tax break to large profitable corporations, Mom's Time Out was nothing like or as comprehensive as Parentlnk is now.

There is trained and experienced staff with Parentlink that can act in a preventative way to identify issues with children aged up to six years old. These programs make all the difference to families in the Bow Valley. 

I plan to meet with the MLA to make sure they know that Parentlink's funding should be increased and the programs should continue without interruption. Stay tuned!
