As an old bike, I have to express myself. I feel that I'm discriminated against. You see e-bikes are taking over. They are getting all the attention and money. As an old bike, I go where they go.

You see the ‘old timer’ who rides me refuses to use his car during the summer. I travel down to get groceries, go to the golf course, post office, bank and even the liquor store. It's a tough climb back to Valleyview with a case of beer in my pack saddles. The old timer definitely deserves a beer or two after that.

Now you see the ‘old timer’ should benefit from the visitor pay parking revenues – the revenues those e-bikes rebates are coming from for Banff residents. So why can't the ‘old timer’ get a small rebate to refresh me like maybe a lighter frame, one of those hydraulic seats – sometimes he can barely swing his leg over the seat – maybe a better gear ratio? We could call it a refresh rebate.

So, can anyone from the Town of Banff, mayor or council explain why we have bike discrimination, please contact me the old bike or my pal the ‘old timer’. Graham MacDonald,

Banff
