With the new COVID-19 variants being airborne, cases in the Bow Valley increasing and more visitors arriving, wearing a good mask effectively is particularly important.

Here are a few useful extra tips that were new to me. Ensure your mask has a good seal on your face by checking the material sucks in and out when you breathe. You should also breathe through your nose since nasal breathing provides an extra filter. If you breathe through your mouth, the air goes directly into your lungs.

Try using a neck lanyard for your mask. It makes it easier to take on and off just using the ear straps, and you don’t have to handle it by putting it down or in a pocket. Wearing glasses also helps secure the seal around your nose and protects your eyes. These tips will further help protect you and others.
