I can’t remember ever being as upset by a municipal decision as I am now.

Given the outpouring from Canmore residents asking for significant changes to be made on the proposed Three Sisters Mountain Village area structure plans, I really expected that council would at least pause to reflect on the proposal as it stands.

Instead, it seems to be full steam ahead on an "impressive area structure plan."

I don’t see this proposal as impressive in any way. I don’t see anything in it that would make me proud to live in Canmore. There is nothing that reflects where we want – and need – to be in another 30 or 40 years.

I certainly can’t see re-electing any of the council members who have failed to have the courage to actually reflect the opinions of the people that they are supposed to represent.

Surely you can see that this is a big enough issue that it should be taken to a referendum this fall.

Kerrie Pain,

Canmore
