Looking for Peyto information

Editor: My great aunt Alice Maude Peyto was a resident of Banff, together with her husband Charles Henry Peyto. Sadly, both are now deceased.

I plan to visit Banff in June and would very much like to meet any descendants of the Peyto family who may still live in the area.

Alice was my grandmother’s sister and I have no photograph of her. Charles was 17 when he was taken by his family to settle in the Cochrane area; leaving his sweetheart Alice in East Wickham, Kent. Her older sisters, Minnie, my grandmother, and Maud married and had families, but being the youngest, daughter Alice remained at home and cared for her mother Emily until her death.

On March 5, 1935, aged 42, Alice sailed to Canada to join Charles and became his wife. They moved to Banff in 1962 and resided there together until their deaths.

I would be very interested in meeting any Banff residents who are interested in family hstory – perhaps there is a society that I could make contact with - [email protected]
