Main Street problems

The first time I drove on Main Street I noticed two problems with the new bridge over the creek. The first is: What is the speed limit? Many times I am traveling behind others and I think the fastest I have driven over the new section is 25 km/h.

The second is: I can’t wait until the road reopens into Spring Creek, but I see a problem here already. The problem is where is the left turn lane? With no left turn lane at that intersection, how is traffic supposed to flow freely through there when someone who lives in Spring Creek wants to get home during the day, when traffic is busy heading toward Railway Avenue.

I have lived in Restwell/Spring Creek for 18 years. I learned on June 1, 18 years ago not to make a left turn from Restwell onto Main Street after 10 a.m. any day, as you can wait for a very long time before you are able to make the turn.

Now it is going to be worse. It was nice for the traffic circle to open, but that brought more traffic through the trailer park as more and more people cut through the trailer park to get home.

I see a road project happening in the future for Main Street again to accommodate the traffic as Spring Creek grows.

The Town wants to cater to people that walk, bike, and now use public transit. I work in and around this town and have a vehicle that I use to get my work tools and myself from job to job. I get paid an hourly wage to work in and around this town.

Someone may say why not take a different route? Well, I could take longer routes, but that just adds to the travel time from point A to point B.
