Please, give up your vehicle

Editor: I am writing in response to a letter entitled, Watching my speedometer.

Please, for the safety of everyone in Canmore, as well as anywhere else you may take your vehicle, give up your drivers licence and stay off the road.

If you feel that it will ‘risk the lives of pedestrians’ with you on the road, knowing (and admitting to in your letter) that you simply cannot drive safely and control your speed at the same time, then you really have no business being behind the wheel of any vehicle.

Anyone who actually knows how to drive knows how to maintain their speed, without being ‘distracted’ by surroundings, as well as watch the surroundings while maintaining proper speed.

So, again, please save some lives, and learn to ride a bicycle.
