Editor: Regarding the Dead Man’s Flats Area Structure Plan:

Mayor John Borrowman is quoted in last week’s Outlook: “It’s (filing an appeal) the only thing we (Canmore town council) can do when neighbouring municipalities approve development that we feel has negative impact to our town.”

Too bad the MD of Bighorn can’t file an appeal with the Town of Canmore for pushing ahead a plan to develop an established urban reserve, ignoring the terms and intent of the 1998 settlement agreement in the Peaks of Grassi subdivision.

Sorry to say, Canmore town council, but your threat of appeal to the MD of Bighorn rings hollow in light of your current position on the Peaks of Grassi re-zoning.

Sounds to me like a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black.
