Re: Amendment of bylaws for Peaks of Grassi

As a lifelong confirmed capitalist and entrepreneur, my natural inclination is to side with the developers in the acrimonious debate over amending the Peaks of Grassi Land Use Bylaw.

However, the circumstances of this particular rezoning require siding with those opposed to amending the bylaw. As pointed out by David Owen in vox populi, this group of developers is far from the norm of those that do due diligence and risk their capital for potential long-term gains.

Essentially, the issue boils down to two things:

Can Canmore residents trust their elected council.

What is the definition and, more importantly, the intent, of Urban Reserve when applied a piece of land within the Town of Canmore?

Unfortunately, the Town of Canmore website does not make it easy to examine the bylaw in question, or to define Urban Reserve.
